Deal Alert: The Tilden Hotel Brings $99 Rooms to San Francisco

This deal has expired, but be sure to check out our Top 25 deals of the week for savings on trips to destinations around the globe.

San Francisco isn't just one of the most expensive cities to live in; it's also among the most expensive to visit. With nightly hotel rates at major properties averaging close to $400 per night, 24 hours in SF can set you back as much as an entire week elsewhere.

Deals in California's City by the Bay are few and far between, particularly for high-end properties within the city itself. If you're planning a trip between now and March of 2017, however, we've got great news.

The Tilden Hotel is a design-savvy boutique property that'll open its doors to guests on October 17. To celebrate, it's offering special rates starting at $159 per night on weekdays and $99 per night on weekends and during holiday season -- a 20-percent savings on best available rates.

The Grand Opening Deal is available for travel through March 31, 2017, and it must be booked by this December 31. There's no minimum stay or blackout dates, but you best book early -- as always, rooms are subject to availability. To take advantage, book online and punch in INTRO as the promo code.

The Tilden is located in San Francisco's Tenderloin district, which isn't known for glitz and glamour. Much like the SoMa, the Tenderloin is undergoing a slow but noticeable revitalization. It's also close to the Powell St. BART stop, which makes getting around the city and to the East Bay fairly painless. If you've ever stayed at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square, you'll be familiar with the area -- The Tilden is just around the corner.
