Thanks to the work of aid groups such as Habitat for Humanity, more than 84 displaced New Orleans families were able to move into new volunteer-built homes in 2008. To continue this successful rebuilding effort, the New Orleans Marriott has launched a special Build & Bond program. Voluntourism groups will now receive a special nightly rate of $84, including all taxes. Rates are based on quad occupancy, which means you’ll pay as little as $21 per person for a chic hotel stay just steps from Bourbon Street’s hottest bars and jazz clubs. (Regular rates for rooms start at around $129). The Build & Bond offer is available for groups with 10 rooms or more and valid on a variety of dates through 2009. For information on booking and the various local organizations where you can lend a helping hand, contact Build & Bond at (504) 553-5526.
