Inn at Taughannock Falls near Ithaca offers a prime location just minutes from top vineyards, with sweeping lake views and easy access to one of the area's most iconic waterfalls.

What You Need to Know

The Look at Inn at Taughannock Falls

It's All in the Details

Set across 12 acres on a wooded bluff above Cayuga Lake, Inn at Taughannock Falls blends the grandeur of a 19th-century estate with modern aesthetics and comforts. The main building — occupying a Victorian mansion — is flanked by flower beds, lush lawns, and Adirondack chairs angled toward the lake. Inside, the space exudes Old World-era charm with original woodwork, antique light fixtures, and richly upholstered furniture.

The 24 rooms and suites are spread across four separate buildings, including the aforementioned mansion, and each is individually styled. Some feature vintage-esque touches like clawfoot tubs and dark wood furnishings, while others have jetted tubs and/or private balconies with lake views. Others lean more contemporary, with clean lines and minimalist décor.

The restaurant, housed on the ground floor of the mansion, offers a front-row seat to incredible sunsets with its 180-degree view of the lake. Here, guests can tuck into elevated, seasonal fare — be it pasta, steak, or seafood — in a sophisticated indoor-outdoor setting.  In the warmer months, make a beeline for the cozy bar and outdoor terrace, where you can sip cocktails by the fire pit.

The Vibe at Inn at Taughannock Falls

Inn at Taughannock Falls is refined but relaxed. The historical architecture and vintage touches, alongside lake views and an overall sense of calm, set the tone for an elegant and serene stay. Here, days move slowly: Guests drink coffee on their private balcony or the property's wrap-around porch, wander nearby trails (including that of the namesake falls of the same name), and sip local wine in the garden or overlooking the lake. Overall, the inn is ideal for travelers looking to unplug without sacrificing comfort or a sense of place.
