InTouch, the already rewarding loyalty program from the Kimpton boutique hotel chain, has just evolved into a new Kimpton Karma Rewards program that rewards travelers for more than just staying at their hotels.
With the Karma Rewards system, guests progress through four different tiers. Simply signing up for the free-to-join program puts you at a Tier 1 level, which gives you free WiFi, a $10 credit to "raid the bar" either in-room or at the hotel bar, and access to members-only deals -- such as the current offer of 15 percent off daily rates when booking 30 days in advance at Hotel Wilshire or Palomar Los Angeles.
Perks increase as you move further up the four tier levels. With a minimum of three stays or 10 nights annually, you move into Tier 2 and receive a $30 in-room spa credit and complimentary upgrade. You then reach Tier 3 with eight stays or 21 nights, enjoying late check-out priority and a welcome amenity at check-in. The top-tier Inner Circle level is for those completing 14 stays or 40 nights, who receive an additional $50 restaurant credit.
But, perhaps even more interesting, is that the Karma Rewards program goes beyond racking up stays to earn points, moving into more personalized territory and rewarding what you do onsite as well as how often you book. While Kimpton isn't disclosing all the ways to earn points, some examples for further rewards -- say, a treat from the chef or an additional spa credit -- include posting about the brand on social media or attending the hotel's evening wine hour. (Just in case you needed another reason to head to the lobby for a free glass of wine.) Essentially, you'll be rewarded for engaging with the brand.
If you were already an InTouch member, you don't have to change anything in your existing profile. Simply sign in with the same credentials and you'll find your current account balance and updated tier level. Credits earned before the program change also remain intact, and, hewing to traditional loyalty program territory, you still earn a free night after seven eligible visits or 20 stays.
