If you’re heading to the Big Apple this fall, there’s one more hotel to choose from: the Riff ChelseaAnd you can snag rates for a scant $99.

The hotel -- formerly known as the Chelsea Star and playing host Madonna as one of its guests at the original location in the '80s -- has completed a transformation channeling the artsy, musical roots of that era. Rooms are currently available for booking right now as it undergoes its soft opening.

The walk-up property has a rotating gallery on the ground level and 44 retro-contemporary rooms. Singles with shared bathrooms start from just $99 depending on the season, while guest rooms with en-suite bathrooms -- in varied configurations with a single bed, two queens, or sleeper sofa -- range between $199-$399 during the same period.

For more spacious accommodations, there are six 500- to 1,000-square foot apartments with kitchenettes in an adjacent building ($199-599), connected to the first building by a courtyard. As with the guestrooms, there's a variety of set-ups, from studios with a king bed to a group suite with one king, three queens, two sofa sleepers, and two twin beds. Many of the smaller options feature daybeds that can transition between lounging and sleeping furniture.

As for décor, expect to find edgy graphics, pop-art photography, and Jonathan Adler wallpaper that make each guestroom distinct and funky. Amenities inspired by the ‘80s include copies of Interview magazine and Madonna NYC 83, a book featuring images of the “Material Girl” from early in her career.
