What You Need to Know

The Look of Omni Mount Washington Resort

It's All in the Details

Omni Mount Washington Resort is over 120 years old, having opened in 1902: Thomas Edison and three U.S. presidents have spent the night here. The sprawling resort, which overlooks White Mountain National Forest, is castle-like, with a bright red roof that’s juxtaposed against white walls and snow-capped mountains. The lobby is flooded with warm lighting and impressive columns that add to its stately look. Accommodation styles are numerous and include charming historic rooms in the original part of the hotel as well as more contemporary luxury escapes in the newer Presidential Wing, the latter of which opened in 2009. Amenities vary, but many feature marble bathrooms and gas fireplaces. After unpacking and having dinner, head to the Observatory Bar, an outdoor space that overlooks picturesque vistas.

The Vibe at Omni Mount Washington Resort

The vibe here is cozy and outdoorsy, while also upscale and refined. The Omni Mount Washington Resort is known for its stunning natural backdrop and opulent common areas, which showcase crystal chandeliers and Tiffany-style glass, but for a more laid-back vibe, guests can head over to Rosebrook Lodge (open seasonally) for panoramic views of the mountains and a great bar.

This hotel truly has something for everyone and is great any time of year. However, it  may not be the best option for those looking to be in a more centrally located setting.

Best Amenity at Omni Mount Washington Resort

There’s so much to do at this resort that it’s hard to choose — there are two golf courses, four restaurants, a heated indoor pool, and a luxurious 25,000-square-foot spa — but The Cave is probably our favorite. The stone-walled Prohibition-era speakeasy features a  rum-based “Prohibition Punch” served in teacups.
