The luxe Morgans Hotel Group - which includes Sanderson and St Martins Lane in London and the Mondrian hotels in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, among others - is stepping up their minibar fare to satiate more than just late-night munchies. As of late January, the hotels began offering a so-called “Minibar for the Mind”: A box filled with 250 conversation starters featuring quotes and questions; selected readings meant to evoke feelings of either seduction or relaxation; a blank notebook and pencil; and a book of columns written by the “faculty” of the School of Life, the group that created the boxes for the hotels. The price for such heady snacking? A cool $56. Additionally, at certain hotels, guests dining at the restaurants will be offered a “conversation menu” filled with prompts to stimulate interesting discussions. Also, the School of Life is offering a series of talks at various hotels on topics such as Travel, Culture, and Romance (including “How To Make Love Last” on Valentine’s Day at Sanderson).
