Scenic Debuts First Salt Lounges on River Ships

Luxury river cruise line Scenic has debuted therapeutic salt lounges on its two recently refurbished ships, Scenic Diamond and Scenic Sapphire. The three-station lounge, handcrafted from salt bricks, is humidity and temperature controlled to mimic a natural salt mine.
While spas are nothing new on river ships (though relatively uncommon), a salt lounge is a first and offers unique health benefits, including negatively charged ions have a kinetic energy that promote healing, improve breathing and skin conditions, and boost the immune system. They also provide a feeling of relaxation, similar to being on a beach.
And, since this is an all-inclusive cruise line (all meals, alcohol, entertainment, excursions, and even gratuities are included in the fare), passengers are free to use the room as they wish. They can spend up to 45 minutes here at a time, lounging in chairs under low lighting and relaxing to calm music.
