What You Need to Know

The Look of Mohonk Mountain House

It's All in the Details

Ever see the movie Dirty Dancing? Mohonk Mountain House has that vibe, with a bit of a luxury bend. The rooms and cottages skew Victorian with pretty flowers and decor. Many of the guestrooms have a wood-burning fireplace and a private balcony or porch to enjoy the fresh air. The property is surrounded by nature, so naturally, guests gravitate to outdoor activities like hiking, ice skating, snowshoeing, and swimming, kayaking, or paddleboarding in the on-site lake.

Who Will Love Mohonk Mountain House

This place really is perfect for families--and you’ll see lots of them. There are loads of activities for kids, but plenty to keep the entire family busy.

Who Might Not Love Mohonk Mountain House

This is not the place for those looking to party. As in, this is probably not the spot for a bachelor or bachelorette party.

Best Amenity at Mohonk Mountain House

The 30,000-square foot spa is spectacular. It’s also huge with sprawling verandas, a 60-foot-long indoor heated swimming pool, a fitness center, and wellness activities that include a range of yoga and meditation classes; we recommend booking a mindfulness session with meditation expert Nina Smiley, Ph.D. The new nature-inspired Lakeview Summerhouse outdoor treatment room was conceptualized by Robert D. Henry architects, who specialize in wellness architecture. The zen-like structure was made with local timber and created for guests to receive a treatment surrounded by views of Lake Mohonk and the towering cliffs.
