Helping you find the best value lodging experiences around the world, from budget to luxury and everything in between.
There's no shortage of historic hotels in Washington DC. Many of the grande dames have hosted inaugural balls, power breakfasts, and even a juicy political scandal or two. DC's newest hotel is unabashedly modern and even a little cheeky. The Darcy hotel opened in April near Logan Circle, and delivers high style with a budget friendly price tag that will appeal to families as well as a younger crowd.
Budget Level: Upscale ($150-300 a night)
Lodging Type: Large Hotel (100+ rooms)
The Darcy may look understated from the exterior (it was previously a Doubletree) but the interior is a different story. Part of Hilton's Curio collection, the design is inspired by a fictional, well-dressed and well-traveled gentleman. The guest rooms are lighter, with bright pops of color and mid-century modern inspired furniture. Original art is everywhere, from the lobby to the guest room baths.
Stylish and playful. Although The Darcy is all about design, it doesn't take itself too seriously and has an unpretentious feel. Families will feel comfortable, thanks to the kid-friendly amenities like complimentary strollers, but so will the hipsters who pour into the lobby level Siren restaurant for cocktails and sushi at the zinc-topped tables.
Who Will Love It
Anyone looking for a stylish, curated stay in a traditionally buttoned-up city. The hotel embraces art and design in every detail, from the pinstriped bathrobes to the room numbers, some of which have abstract images of US presidents. Partnerships with local companies, including UrbanStems flowers, which hosts pop ups at the hotel, give The Darcy a connection to its location.

Gentlemen looking to up their fashion game can borrow (or purchase) ties, cuff links, and pocket squares from retail partner Read Wall. Custom tailoring is also available.
