TAM and LAN Announce Merger

On Friday, Chilean airline LAN and Brazilian airline TAM announced a merger that would create the largest airline in Latin America. Pending approval from both companies’ shareholders, the proposed deal allows for the two airlines to continue their individual operations under the umbrella of a parent company, to be called LATAM. The combined airline will offer flights to 115 destinations in 23 countries. Further information can be found at www.latamairlines.com.
