This deal has expired, but be sure to check out our Top 25 deals of the week for savings on trips to destinations around the globe.

With Labor Day fast approaching you can almost hear the collective squeal of tires across America as families earnestly cram in a final getaway before schools cease being out for summer. Another noise you can almost make out, since we’re pretending to hear things, is the sound of Caribbean resorts dropping prices against the backdrop of their hurricane season, which runs through November. Good news is, if you’re willing to risk a trip during this period and pull the kids out of school for a few days, you can nab a shoulder season vacation that may have been unaffordable this summer and might be just as unattainable come winter.

One resort getting into the spirit of falling fall pricing is The Sands at Grace Bay on the beachy Providenciales Island in Turks & Caicos. In what the property is perversely calling a “cash in your kids” offer, parents who prove they’re traveling with at least one child who’s 16 or younger will be permitted to upgrade their one-bedroom suite to a two-bedroom when they book four or more nights from September through the end of October. That means you’ll pay as little as $248/night for a suite that usually costs upwards of $430/night.

The two-bedroom setup sleeps up to six and includes a full kitchen, living and dining spaces, and a private terrace. For now you can book the deal through the Sands’ toll free reservations line at 877-777-2637 (as of this writing the offer was not posted on the resort’s website). Be sure to request the “cash in your kids” special. And before you hang up, you’ll want to ask for something else: a 25 percent rack rate discount, a separate promotion that the Sands will let you combine with the “cash in” deal.

Free use of kayaks, snorkeling and windsurfing gear, and bicycles are among the Sands’ resort-wide amenities. And if spectator sports are more your family’s thing, they’ll find big-screen plasma TVs in the suites.
