For long-haul flights, Finnair recently began rolling out new Airbus A350 XWB aircrafts, complete with that characteristic Finnish philosophy of finding beauty in simplicity. Here's a quick peek at what's to love.

The cabin, which was created by Finnish design firm dSign Vertti Kivi & Co., features Nordic-inspired colors of white, blue, and silver, giving the interior a light and spacious feel. Plus, the LED lighting gradually changes to suit the time of day, destination, or season -- including 24 different scenarios such as the Northern Lights. (Yes, that one's as Instagram-worthy as it sounds.)

Many of the upgrades have traveler comfort and health in mind. The plane offers a breath of fresh air, literally, with an advanced air filtering system that changes the cabin air every two to three minutes. Its air pressure is closer to that found at sea level, too. You can expect a quieter flight, thanks to the plane's new engines that reduce noise inside and out, and the extra-wide body offers more space and bigger seats.

If you're ever lucky enough to fly business class, the menu -- designed by Kari Aihinen, executive chef de cuisine of Savoy Restaurant in Helsinki -- features items such as vendace roe mousse, warm smoked arctic char, and wild reindeer. The aircraft’s signature Blue Sky cocktail is a mix of French champagne and Finnish blueberry liquor, paying homage to Finland and and to the home of Airbus, Toulouse (France). The circular patterns in the tableware and textiles, from iconic Finnish design house Marimekko, add bold pops of color.

Finally, green-minded travelers will be glad to know that the A350s will help Finnair will reduce its CO2 emissions, thanks to advanced materials that make up a lighter, more cost-efficient aircraft. The airline plans to phase out the less eco-friendly Airbus A340s from its fleet as the roll-out of the new aircraft continues.
