This summer, concern surrounding political unrest in Europe has generated some anxiety among American travelers. The good news? For those who are still interested in sailing the Mediterranean, some cruise lines are offering significant deals this year. For example, Costa is offering seven-day Western Mediterranean cruises starting at $547 per person — more than 50 percent off the list price.

Instead of deeply discounting sailings, the luxury lines are offering discounts on upgrades and some cool perks.

“Now is a really great time for value-conscious travelers to go to the Mediterranean," says Silversea spokesperson Brad Ball. "We are actively targeting consumers with some very attractive offers, and business is starting to rebound."

Silversea’s rates are almost entirely all-inclusive to begin with (covering things like gratuities and alcoholic beverages), and now Mediterranean cruise rates also cover airfare with the option to upgrade to business class at a mere $199 each way. In addition, the line is also including a shore excursion in every port.

Regent Seven Seas always includes airfare in their rates, and now they are also offering a similar air upgrade deal, plus a $200 shipboard credit. 

And they’re not the only ones. Oceania is offering two-for-one cruise fares (including air), with $99 premium economy upgrades. These fares also include unlimited internet and a choice of complimentary shore excursions, a beverage package, or a shipboard credit.
