This week Norwegian Cruise Line revealed the names for its two newest ships: The Norwegian Breakaway first sets sail in April 2013, while Norwegian Getaway will debut in April 2014.

For those familiar with NCL’s fleet, the staterooms on Breakaway and Getaway will essentially have the layout of those on Jewel class ships with design and décor motifs like those on Epic. Another similarity to Epic is the presence of 59 studios for single travelers on each ship – though that’s less than half the number found on Epic.

For Breakaway and Getaway, Norwegian will bring back oceanview staterooms with oversize windows (158 in total); 42 of those will be family rooms that sleep up to five. The ships’ 449 inside staterooms will feature two lower beds that convert to a queen. Many inside rooms connect, creating suite-like accommodations that sleep up to four. Some staterooms will also boast bathtubs.

On the higher end of things, both ships will include 20 spa mini-suites and 28 spa balcony rooms with special décor and free entry to the Thermal Spa Suite. Earlier this summer, NCL revealed the most luxurious staterooms on the ships, housed in a 42-suite complex called the Haven that incorporates a private restaurant and cocktail bar, as well as pool area with two whirlpools, swimming pool, sauna, and two private massage rooms.

Each ship will accommodate about 4,000 passengers.
