Need another reason to party at Myrtle Beach? Look no further than the South Carolina town’s brand-spankin’-new boardwalk, which officially opened May 15. Lined with shops, cafes, and native palmetto trees, the walk stretches south for 1.2 miles before ending at an oceanfront park. Even though some parts of the boardwalk opened in April, last week’s ribbon cutting kicked off summertime festivities (and dished out a 10-foot, 1,00-pound flip-flop-shaped cake baked by “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro for the event). Next up: American astronaut Buzz Aldrin and “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks visit for the walk’s inaugural Memorial Day Weekend.
