Our Review
Deal Expert / Travel Blogger

Tauck has expanded immensely since it began as a land tour company in the 1920s. Since then, its cruises (both ocean and river) have put the company on the map. With a fleet of innovative, custom-built vessels and a wide range of itineraries, Tauck is best known for its upscale cruises and inclusive pricing. Tipping is not required, beverages are complimentary at all hours of the day, and the company will even provide a few Euro coins in order to use the notorious pay toilets while on tour in Europe.

What We Love

Family-Friendly Departures: As part of the Tauck Bridges program, the line offers family-oriented departures during the summer and winter holiday months, with special activities geared toward children (and their parents and grandparents).

Less People, More Room: Tauck's ships carry less than 150 people each, making it easy to sprawl out. Our favorite part? The 300-square-foot suites with floor-to-ceiling windows, French balconies, and marble bathrooms.

High-Quality Amenities: It's not just the low-passenger count and roomy cabins that make these cruises upscale — you'll also find luxe touches such as Molton Brown toiletries, down-filled pillows, and high-thread-count sheets in every stateroom.

Best Known For

Privileged Access: Tauck offers some experiences that would be hard to set up on your own — even if you had the money — from a soirée at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest to a private dinner with performances of opera, dance, and orchestral music in a private Viennese palace.

Robust Cultural Offerings: Tauck has a focus on immersive educational experiences. Expect plenty of local cuisine and authentic cultural excursions that seek to offer guests a more in-depth look at a destination than just a cursory walking tour.

Inclusive Pricing: From high-quality wine and spirits to gratuities, nearly everything is covered in your fare.

Who It's Best For

A Mature, Well-Traveled Crowd: These ships are designed for couples and singles who are well-seasoned travelers and enjoy the good life (and are willing to shell out for it).

Families: Though these cruises are upscale, that’s not to say families aren’t welcome. The age range varies considerably on the line’s designated family-friendly departures.

Don't Say We Didn't Warn You

You Need to Book Far Ahead: Tauck’s most popular departures tend to sell out quickly, thanks to the company’s loyal passenger base that has the tendency to book well in advance.

High Fares: Tauck offers an enormous amount of inclusions, but those come with a cost.
