Moxy hotel guests tend to skew a little younger thanks to playful amenities and a full roster of entertaining events, like happy hours and drag brunches. Moxy Williamsburg boasts all of that, as well as a central location right in the heart of Williamsburg, which is arguably Brooklyn’s coolest neighborhood. What You Need to Know
The Look of Moxy Williamsburg
The first thing you’ll notice as you pull up to the hotel is a massive pop art-style mural of a woman driving a car on the side of the building: A neon pink Moxy sign shows that you’re in the right place.
Adjacent to the dedicated check-in desks, behind which you’ll find a series of hand-painted skateboards by local artists, is the cozy lobby bar, Bar Bedford, where bar stools wrap around a wood bar and an eclectic assortment of furniture offers additional seating. The hotel also has a Tel Aviv-inspired restaurant called Mesiba, a music lounge called the Jolene Sound Room that nods to retro recording studios, and a rooftop bar that boasts panoramic views of Manhattan.
Guest rooms at the hotel are somewhat small (this is New York City, after all!) but efficiently designed. Instead of a closet, the hotel uses pegs on a wall for hanging clothes, there’s under-bed storage, and a small pull-down shelf acts as a makeshift desk. Sinks are out in the sleeping space, between a closed-off area housing a walk-in rain shower, but be aware that the frosted glass only gives so much privacy if you’re sharing your room. Rooms with bunk beds that accommodate four are also available.
The Vibe at Moxy Williamsburg
With a buzzy and busy vibe, guests here are looking to truly get the most out of their stay in “The City That Never Sleeps."
Who Will Love Moxy Williamsburg
Budget-conscious travelers simply looking for a place to crash at the end of the day will love the Moxy Williamsburg.
Who Might Not Love Moxy Williamsburg
Travelers looking for a more traditional hotel with a variety of amenities and services may want to check in somewhere else. Anyone looking for more space or privacy in their room might also want to find another hotel.
Best Amenity at Moxy Williamsburg
Lillistar, the hotel’s indoor/outdoor rooftop bar, attracts locals as much as it does hotel guests. From the 11th floor, take in views of the Williamsburg Bridge and the Manhattan skyline. Even better, do so while enjoying a bar menu filled with creative cocktails, like the Hot Doggin It, which includes tomato water. (Note: This space is only open on Friday and Saturday evenings, so plan accordingly.)
