With its sandy beaches, historic lighthouses, top-notch seafood, and incredible whale-watching opps, it’s no wonder that Cape Cod is such a popular summer vacation destination. While the Cape lures in millions of visitors each year, it retains a small-town charm — which is why most hotels here are inns and B&Bs. However, those craving a resort-style stay with ample amenities, activities, and a range of accommodations need not look further than Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club in Brewster, MA — one of the destination’s only year-round properties.
What You Need to Know
The Look of Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club
Ideally situated along the shoreline, the sprawling seaside resort spans 400-plus landscaped acres, including lush and colorful gardens, a private beach area, and a Nicklaus-designed golf course. Rooms and suites are housed in either The Mansion or The Villages. The historic mansion dates back to 1890 and is known for its luxurious rooms, suites, villas, and townhouses. Each offers a contemporary beach-chic color palette of tans, creams, and whites, plus private patios or balconies. Tip: For a worth-it splurge, opt for a suite with a whirlpool tub and gas fireplace. Families, however, will be happier at The Villages, where each of the 220 spacious accommodations has separate bedrooms and living areas complete with kitchenettes, in-unit washer/dryers, private patios or terraces, and a pullout sofa or Murphy bed.
The Vibe at Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club
The vibe varies depending on which part of the resort you’re staying in. At The Villages, expect a more casual atmosphere than that at The Mansion, which exudes elegance and sophistication.
Who Will Love Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club
Pretty much anyone — families, couples, friend groups — will love Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club for its fun-filled amenities and activities ranging from a private beach and championship golf to tennis and pickleball (and so much more!).
Who Might Not Love Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club
Those craving a more intimate or boutique hotel experience might want to consider staying elsewhere on the Cape. Sprawled across 400-plus acres and featuring nearly 350 rooms and suites, the property is, in a word, massive.
Best Amenity at Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club
Cape Cod beaches are known to be packed in the summer months, which is why we especially love that the property has its own private stretch of sand. While access to the private beach is available to all Mansion guests any time of year, the same does not hold true for those staying in The Villages: Only those staying in villas or two- to three-bedroom units in The Villages have access to the private beach, and only between Labor Day and Indigenous People’s Day (the second Monday in October). Otherwise, there’s a complimentary Beach Shuttle to Crosby Landing Beach.
