MSC Musica
Introduced in 2006, MSC Musica was the first of a four-ship class in the growing Italian cruise line’s fleet. She and her sisters (Orchestra, Magnifica, and Poesia) have a decidedly Italian flair, which suits their target European market. Musica, which has a double-occupancy guest capacity of 2,550, currently sails itineraries in the Mediterranean and South America.
What We Love
The Atrium: Musica's lively and inviting three-story atrium features sweeping curved walls, a multi-tiered waterfall, and a piano set on a transparent deck atop a pool of water.
Environmental Initiatives: Musica-class ships introduced an award-winning, Bureau Veritas-certified ecological program that conserves fuel, reduces waste, and promotes recycling in cooperation with most of the European ports it visits.
A Taste of Italy: Even the buffets feature quality Italian cold cuts and cheeses. As one would expect, the pasta dishes and Italian specialties, such as eggplant parmesan, are quite authentic.
Best Known For
Energetic Animators: The ship has a troupe of enthusiastic young "animators" who supervise onboard activities throughout the day, engaging guests and captivating kids.
La Madrina Loren: Musica and all of her fleetmates have the distinction of having been christened by legendary Italian actress Sophia Loren, who serves as madrina, or godmother.
Who It's Good For
Families and International Cruisers: Passengers tend to hail from all around the globe, so announcements and events are in five languages. There's also a significant focus on families, since kids sail for free on select sailings and for extremely low fares on others.
