Silver Dawn Review

Our Ship Review
Deal Expert / Travel Blogger

A sister ship to 2017's Silver Muse and 2021's Silver Moon, Silver Dawn (which debuted in April 2022) epitomizes Silversea's Italian heritage and all-inclusive indulgence with elegant, sophisticated interior design that dazzles but doesn't overwhelm, eight gourmet dining options expertly orchestrated down to the finest detail, and a new spa concept inspired by ancient Rome.

With itineraries lasting anywhere from seven to 136 nights — plus incredible culinary offerings that give guests a taste of the destinations they're visiting — Silver Dawn takes pampering to the max. Passengers can relax poolside or in one of three whirlpools (the secluded one located aft is especially inviting), sip expertly crafted cocktails and fine wines in one of several bars and lounges, and dive deeper into each destination's distinct culture.

Additionally, for a ship this size, there's an impressive selection of dining venues onboard, including La Dame for white-glove French cuisine (an additional charge applies), Atlantide for grilled seafood, Kaiseki for Japanese fine dining and gourmet sushi, La Terrazza for pasta and other Italian favorites (served from food stations at lunch and a la carte at dinner), and Spaccanapoli for authentic Neapolitan-style pizza. Moreover, this is a ship designed to anticipate — and meet — its sophisticated guests' every need with lavish surroundings and five-star

What We Love

The S.A.L.T. Program: Those looking to explore the flavors and techniques of international cuisines can savor locally-inspired dishes in S.A.L.T. Kitchen, Silver Dawn’s destination-focused restaurant that’s short for “Sea and Land Taste” and offers menus inspired by regional specialties and culinary heritage in an intimate, contemporary setting. The adjacent S.A.L.T. Bar provides a convivial setting for enjoying local libations, while those who love to cook can gain further insights in S.A.L.T. Lab, an interactive kitchen space offering workshops and cooking demonstrations.

The Bars and Lounges: Silver Dawn’s social spaces shine. The aft Panorama Lounge, with its airy indoor and outdoor seating, is ideal for sipping a cool cocktail as the ship slips away from port. Nearby, Connoisseur’s Corner, also with indoor and outdoor space, allows guests to indulge in some of the world’s top cigars along with cognac or whisky. Glam décor and inspired cocktails are on offer in Dolce Vita, the ship’s main bar featuring a piano player, while Silver Note bridges the gap between lounge and restaurant, serving wine, cocktails, and tapas-style international dishes as guests enjoy live jazz and blues performances.

The Otium Spa: Inspired by the bathing rituals of ancient Rome, Silver Dawn’s first-of-its-kind spa is dedicated to the art of “living well,” not only through signature wellness practices and treatments with a focus on Mediterranean ingredients but also via atmospheric surroundings offering a modern take on millennia-old art and sculpture. Beyond the spa, guests can enjoy curated in-suite experiences ranging from bath and sleeping rituals to “comfort food.”

Elevated Cuisine: Travelers with a curious palate will appreciate Silversea’s culinary program — especially on ships such as Silver Dawn with its S.A.L.T. restaurant and related workshops and excursions. Fresh, local ingredients pair with time-tested and innovative techniques to present authentic gastronomic experiences rooted in Silversea’s Italian heritage, celebrating the flavor diversity of top international cuisines.

Spacious, Butler-Serviced Suites: Silver Dawn’s suites range from 335-square-foot Vista and Panorama Suites (oceanview with a large picture window), which feature spacious baths with a bathtub and walk-in shower, to one- or two-bedroom Owner’s Suites that are up to 1,055 or 1,389 square feet, respectively. Beloved Silver Suites are also available in one- or two-bedroom configurations, offering 786 and 1,119 square feet of space. Meanwhile, Veranda Suites are a generous 387 square feet. All are serviced by around-the-clock butlers who are on hand to enhance the onboard experience by fulfilling requests and surprising passengers with unexpected treats.

Who It's Best For

Sophisticated World Travelers: With its emphasis on fine dining, lavish accommodations, attentive service, and an indulgent spa environment, Silver Dawn is ideal for mature couples (Silversea’s base is generally close to or past retirement age) who appreciate strong attention to detail and a cruise experience that’s gracious and even a bit formal.

Don't Say We Didn't Warn You

Ultra-Luxury Has an Ultra-High Price: Silver Dawn sailings range between $5,900 to $89,000 per person — but that does include airfare, door-to-door transfers, premium onboard beverages, gratuities, and a complimentary shore excursion in every port.
