Sometimes you just feel like going for a swim — even when it’s frigid cold outside or the forecast is monsoonal. On these ships, you can take a plunge into these pools year-round, regardless of the season or what the weather is like outside.

If you love a big ship but long to sit by a private pool, you can upgrade to the Haven, a “ship within a ship” on Norwegian's Breakaway, Getaway, and Escape. Its serene courtyard is covered for indoor dips. Bonus: It's serviced by attentive staff that you don’t have to share with the rest of the ship.

With a retractable glass roof overhead, the variously named main pools — one of the two mid-ship Lido Deck pools on Carnival's Pride, Legend, and Miracle — are ready for whatever weather Mother Nature tosses their way.
Sometimes an enclosed, adults-only space can make all the difference on a large, family-friendly ship like the MSC Divina. That spot is the One, which features a peacefully serene pool and two uncrowded hot tubs, accessible only to MSC Yacht Club members. The other all-weather alternative: Le Sirène Pool — with a retractable roof — but you’ll share the space with kids (and you won’t be shielded from the noise from the very lively Aqua Park).
The two-level Conservatory Pool has mosaic-tiled columns and a sliding glass roof to banish even the most unpredictable of elements: cold, rain, snow. Star, Grand, Royal, Regal and Golden Princess feature similarly covered areas under the name the Calypso Pool.
