The cruise industry always has something innovative on the horizon, and 2022 will deliver more than a dozen gleaming new vessels, including highly anticipated ships from Celebrity, Disney, Norwegian, and MSC. Here are 12 exciting new cruise ships setting sail in 2022.

World Traveller: Atlas Ocean Voyages

After the 2021 launch of its first all-inclusive expedition-style luxury ship, World Navigator, Atlas Ocean Voyages will inaugurate its second vessel, World Traveller, in July. World Traveller will feature elevated service offerings with six onboard dining options and a SeaSpa by L’Occitane. The cruise will offer nine- and 10-night itineraries in the Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic to South America.

Viking Octantis: Viking Cruises

Viking Octantis — which debuts in January with 12-night Antarctic Explorer sailings from Buenos Aires — marks Viking's first foray into the polar-class expedition cruise market. The 378-passenger ship boasts two submarines, a science lab, and a panoramic auditorium. Additional voyages include Patagonia, the Chilean Fjords, Brazil, Panama, the Arctic, and the Great Lakes.

Royal Caribbean's 5,734-passenger Wonder of the Seas offers all the onboard fun and excitement of its Oasis-class siblings (there's the AquaTheater, Ultimate Abyss, and 20 eateries) — plus a redesigned pool deck, an innovative Wonder Playscape, and a new Suite Neighborhood. Wonder of the Seas will cruise the Caribbean from March until May. After that, she'll move to the Mediterranean for the summer months.

The 2,770-passenger Valiant Lady is the second ship in Richard Branson's Virgin Voyages fleet. Cruisers will enjoy an array of innovative dining concepts, entertainment venues, and even an onboard tattoo parlor. It's set to debut in March with three-night "long weekend" sailings from Portsmouth, England, and 11-night cruises to the Canary Islands, Spain, and Portugal. Come summertime, Valient Lady will cruise the Mediterranean and the Greek Isles.

Onboard amenities include eight dining venues, as well as the line's signature Sea and Land Taste (S.A.L.T.) culinary program. The brand-new Otium Wellness Program, which is based on Roman leisurely indulgence, is also a highlight: Expect everything from in-suite bathing rituals to a 24/7 comfort food menu.

In addition to its outward-facing design, Celebrity Beyond will feature a new restaurant, Le Voyage (helmed acclaimed Chef Daniel Boulud), as well as the two-deck aft Sunset Bar, designed by HGTV personality Nate Berkus. Celebrity Beyond will begin cruising the Mediterranean in April.

The 3,260-guest Celebrity Beyond is an evolution of Celebrity’s Edge-class ships. Azamara Onward: Azamara Club Cruises

Azamara Onward, which will hold around 700 passengers, will start sailing the Mediterranean in May. Expect familiar dining venues (including Discoveries, Prime C, and Aqualina) along with country-intensive voyages and overnights in some ports. Like all Azamara ships, Onward is a refurbishment of a former Renaissance R-class ship. 

Azamara Onward, which will hold around 700 passengers, is the fourth ship from boutique cruise line Azamara Cruises. It will start sailing the Mediterranean in May. Expect familiar dining venues (including Discoveries, Prime C, and Aqualina) along with country-intensive voyages and overnights in some ports. Like all Azamara ships, Onward is a refurbishment of a former Renaissance R-class ship.

Disney Wish: Disney Cruise Line

The 2,508-passenger Disney Wish marks the first new Disney Cruise Line ship in a decade. The vessel will offer an array of exciting creative concepts, including the top-deck AquaMouse ride, the Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, and storybook-inspired staterooms like the 1,966-square-foot Wish Tower Suite, which is inspired by the animated hit Moana. It's set to debut in June with Bahamas voyages from Port Canaveral.

However, there’s still plenty of action, including the Prima Speedway (which offers three levels of racing) and The Rush waterslide. The ship is set for an August debut in Northern Europe.

It will feature the BOLT rollercoaster, Family Feud Live, a WaterWorks aquapark, fun dining venues (including multiple eateries by Guy Fieri and Shaq’s Big Chicken), and several pools. Carnival Celebration will sail from Miami to the Caribbean in November 2022 before heading to Europe for summer 2023. 

The 5,374-passenger Carnival Celebration mirrors the onboard fun and excitement of sister ship Carnival Mardi Gras. The 5,079-guest MSC World Europa is the first ship in the cruise line's World-class fleet. The ship boasts a sleek, futuristic-inspired silhouette and eco-friendly LNG-powered technologies. It features a distinct, Y-shaped open aft. Here, you'll find a 295-foot-long promenade complete with an 11-deck tall, stainless-steel slide, the signature MSC Yacht Club enclave, and 12 restaurants. MSC World Europa will cruise the Middle East starting in December.
