Underrated Favorite: Terra Nova National Park

Location: Newfoundland and Labrador
Size: 154 square miles
Nearest City: Gander

Terra Nova National Park is the first national park to be established in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Here, visitors can enjoy nearly 50 miles of trails complete with postcard-worthy land and sea views, with the Coastal Trail being one of the most popular, as it winds through vast landscapes like the shoreline and forest. At the Canadian Wildlife Bird Sanctuary, visitors can spot majestic birds like bald eagles and ospreys, and paddling, camping, and fishing opps are also available. However, the park's most stunning feature just might be its dark skies: Designated as a Dark Sky Preserve (an area that restricts artificial light pollution) in February 2018, Terra Nova National Park offers some seriously stunning stargazing.
