Everybody knows Florida is home to tons of big-name luxe resorts like The Breakers Palm Beach and Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. But, in recent years the state has welcomed many indie boutique hotels. From a Nantucket import in Palm Beach to a vibrant Key West property, here are some of our favorites.

But, in recent years the state has welcomed many indie boutique hotels. From a Nantucket import in Palm Beach to a vibrant Key West property, here are some of our favorites.

The Savoy Hotel, Miami Beach

Savoy Hotel, Miami Beach

Fresh off a major refurb, The Savoy Hotel in Miami Beach features spacious accommodations and a prime beachfront location. Other highlights include a two-acre pool area and plenty of Instagrammable decor (lots of millennial pink, tropical-leaf motif wallpaper, and rattan furnishing). An restaurant debuts in spring, further driving home the Art Deco splendor. Rates from $254 per night, depending on the season.

Sarasota continues to reinvent itself with the 89-room The Sarasota Modern (open since spring 2019). Rooms here feature pops of floral fabric with minimalist design. Meanwhile, the on-site juice bar, coffee shop, and all-day eatery (which features healthy amount of plant-based options, mixed with seafood and meat dishes) attract locals. Rates from $125 per night, depending on the season.

Casa Faena was originally built in 1930 as a an apartment building; today, each of the 44 rooms is anchored by red Persian rugs, terracotta flooring, and dark wooden antique furnishings. The hotel also has a private beach, a rooftop bar and lounge panoramic ocean views, an incredible spa, and three trendy (and delicious) on-site restaurants. Rates from $135 per night, depending on the season.

The Belleview Inn

Located right outside of Clearwater, Belleview Inn (which dates back to 1897) is housed in a Victorian-inspired building. After undergoing a change in ownership, the hotel reopened in 2018 (it had closed back in 2009). All 35 rooms and suites pay homage to the property's Victorian heritage. Other highlights and amenities include a reading room, a pool, and a daily sunset champagne toast. Each morning, a freshly baked bread and pastry basket is delivered to your room. Rates from $211 per night, depending on the season.
