Marriott has also aligned itself with Trailborn. While not exactly glamping, Trailborn's boutique hotels share a great deal of its outdoors-focused DNA. Trailborn hotels are all located in iconic nature destinations, and while guests stay in traditional hotel rooms, the Trailborn experience is really about being outside. For example, the newly renovated Trailborn Highlands in North Carolina is surrounded by 4.5 acres of woods. Rooms are designed to reflect the destination's local character, with décor, cozy quilts, and wooden lamp shades designed by regional artists. Even so, the idea is for guests to spend most of their time outside. They can soak up nature on a patio with picnic tables and fire pits, by a lily pond and flower gardens, or at a Nordic outdoor spa equipped with a sauna and cold spritz showers. Curated guided excursions include fly fishing, bird watching, and forest bathing.

While Trailborn owns and operates the hotels, they can be booked via Marriott, meaning that Marriott Bonvoy members will receive points for stays.
