Champs-Élysées
Best for: First-time visitors
The Seine and Paris’ top attractions are at your fingertips in Champs-Élysées, the high-end neighborhood surrounding the iconic shopping street. It’s adjacent to the Louvre and Tuileries Gardens, Grand Palais, and the Arc de Triomphe; and numerous museums, including the contemporary art mecca Palais de Tokyo, are within walking distance. Fashion is, of course, an essential facet of the neighborhood, which boasts the impressively beautiful La Galerie Dior (book a ticket online in advance). Some of the dining and shopping can be overly touristy, but those in search of fine dining can find award-winning options like Le Cinq and Fouquet’s. Seek out new culinary additions, like coffee shop Café Nuances and Japanese eatery Kisin, as well. For the full Paris experience, book a ride on a sightseeing boat Bateaux Mouches, which depart near the Pont de l'Alma.
Where to Stay: Hôtel San Régis, an intimate, family-owned luxury boutique known for its sartorial charm and discreet, high-end service.
