Kylemore Abbey

The lavish Kylemore Abbey dates back to the 19th century when it was first built by a wealthy English family. Today, travelers can tour the structure and its surrounding grounds, which include lush gardens (spanning about six acres), an elegant church, and an on-site cafe, along with a slew of historical artifacts and restored period rooms.

Inis Mór (also spelled Inishmore) is the largest of the three Aran Islands. Visitors can explore the destination on foot, bike, or horse-drawn carriage. Don't miss the 3,000-plus-year-old Dún Aonghasa, the largest of several prehistoric stone forts in the region.

As a UNESCO Global Geopark, The Cliffs of Moher are one of — if not the most — notable attractions in all of Ireland. These striking cliffs reach up to 214 meters (702 feet) tall and span approximately five miles. Be sure to bring your camera to capture these views for years to come.

Fanad Lighthouse

Situated along the mouth of Lough Swilly, Fanad Lighthouse was first lit in 1817 (on Saint Patrick's Day, no less). Now, it's considered by many to be one of the world's most stunning lighthouses. For the best views, climb the 76 steps to the top of the tower. Guided tours are also available, as are overnight accommodations housed in three beautifully restored lighthouse keeper homes.
