If You Require Guidance With Visas and Other Entry Requirements

For example, Globus makes exploring China easier with its "Best of China & the Yangtze River" tour, which takes travelers to Beijing, Shanghai, and the Great Wall while providing visa assistance every step of the way with iVisa, a user-friendly online visa processing service.

Intrepid Travel, which offers adventure and cultural tours in locales like Cuba and Myanmar, where the visa process can be tricky, lets travelers check visa and entry requirements for their specific tour directly via their website, as does G Adventures, which offers small-group tours in China, Cuba, and Iran. Steppes Travel, which operates a handful of India tours, clearly outlines India visa requirements, important updates, and different ways to obtain necessary documents on its website. Lastly, Abercrombie & Kent partnered with VisaCentral to provide dedicated support and streamline the application process.

For certain destinations that require visas — such as Bhutan — Exodus also handles the visa process, with the cost included in the total trip price. The company also lists current visa requirements for the country or countries you're visiting directly on your invoice. Should any visa regulations change, Exodus will notify you so you have time to make the requisite arrangements.

Most tour operators highlight passport validity requirements for each destination. This information is often shared on clients' trip portals or in pre-departure emails. Some companies, like Intrepid, include it directly on its tour page. On its website, Exodus notes that passports should generally be valid for six months beyond the scheduled return date.

Some destinations, such as Bhutan, Jordan, Indonesia, and Egypt, have additional fees that travelers need to be aware of (for example, Bhutan's $200 per day Sustainable Development Fee or Indonesia's tourist tax of about $10). Many tour operators will note when there are such fees; some, such as Intrepid, include them in the price of the trip, while others have them listed in their "what's not included" sections.
