7 of the World’s Top Airport Lounges, According to Someone Who Travels 300 Days a Year

As a travel journalist, I’m on the road for about 300 days per year and have been known to rack up more than 400,000 miles in the air. Before taking off and in between connecting flights, you’ll find me in what’s come to feel like my home away from home (albeit one with way more perks): an airport lounge. At the ones I frequent the most, the staff recognizes me when I check in, and I always sit in the same spot — ideally where I can see the planes coming and going. More than just a quiet oasis away from a crowded terminal, a great airport lounge will actually tempt you to miss your flight. You can eat delicious food, get a massage, take a nap, or sip a cocktail while watching air traffic. Time permitting, I do all of the above in a single visit. Here’s a look at some of my favorites around the world. With the right boarding pass (or credit card), they might just become your top picks, too.
