Algodon Wine Estates
Address: Ruta N. 144 km 674
City: San Rafael
A change of owners for Algodon Wine Estates in 2007 led to a redesign including a new lodge, fresh tennis courts, and an expanded golf course. Additionally, two polo fields are in the works for 2010. Set outside San Rafael in the Sierra Pintada foothills along one of Argentina's wine routes, the 2,050-acre property encompasses working vineyards, fruit and olive groves, a golf course, and one of Mendoza's best restaurants. The rustic accommodations (spread over two farmhouse-style lodges) feature original adobe walls, working fireplaces or woodburning stoves, and Andes vistas from every room.
