Although basic by American standards, Taur’aa is the best hotel within Hanga Roa proper, thanks to the hospitality of owners Bill, who hails from Australia, and his Rapa Nui wife Edith. In-room amenities are limited to a mini-bar and a coffee-maker (sadly there is no A/C), but the ease of booking bike rentals, archaeological tours, horseback riding, and diving here makes up for it. Rooms, though straightforward in design, are always tidy and clean.
