It’s all about timing. To avoid crowds and inflated prices, we recommend the period between high and low seasons when the weather is fine, places are still open and happy to welcome travelers, and you can explore a destination at your own pace. ShermansTravel experts call this magical time and space continuum the Sweet Spot.

When to go to Tampa

Peak Season: January to April

Warm days in the 60s to 70s, cool nights, and events like the popular April Mainsail Arts Festival provide an antidote to wintry weather. Reservations during this pricey, tourist-packed period are a must for restaurants and boat trips.

Off Season: September to December

When the kids head back to school, many hotels offer deep discounts. Fall also brings stunning sunsets and cooler days (temperatures average 76°F) that are perfect for beachcombing and rounds of golf.

Sweet Spot: May to September

Inviting ocean temperatures counteract the 80 degree heat and there are great vacation deals to be had, though with school out you'll have to battle for them. Hotels sell out Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
