Expert Review
High design and New England charm intersect at The Ames, a new Morgan's Group property and member of the National Register of Historic Places. Each of the 114 rooms, suites and lofts are uniquely designed to incorporate new features, such as glass bathroom walls, with old architectural elements like striking Romanesque windows. Pay-per-use wireless Internet, giant flat-screen TVs, and extraordinarily comfortable beds and bedding are a few of The Ames perks. The hotel seems to attract young professionals, which becomes obvious if you happen to be at their Woodward bar and restaurant any time after 5pm. The food here is simple, regionally inspired and tasty, and delicious designer drinks like the Ames Addiction (St. Germain, Hendricks Gin topped with Chandon Brut and cucumber foam) are not to be missed. If you're hankering to explore Boston, The Ames is superbly located near the city's vibrant Beacon Hill and North End neighborhoods, and brilliantly located across the street from buses and subways stops for moving around greater Boston.
