Martha's Vineyard

Unless you own a private yacht, there aren’t many opportunities for day trips off of Martha’s Vineyard (it’s an island, after all). The nearby isle of Chappaquiddick, with its serenely empty beach and Japanese-inspired garden, is the one exception.

Day Trips from Martha's Vineyard

The peaceful islet of Chappaquiddick received some unfortunate national attention thanks to the Kennedy scandal of 1969. As a quiet escape, however, it remains blissfully under the radar. Quiet East Beach and the Japanese Mytoi Garden (508-627-7689) are the highlights.
