Traveling this weekend? You'll want to save some room for dessert on the road, when the classic marshmallow campsite treat achieves cult status on Sunday, August 10. That's right -- it's National S'mores Day. Here are five great places in the States to indulge in the wonderfully sticky, gooey flavors:

Shores Resort and Spa, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida
At this AAA four-diamond resort, s'mores are always a signature amenity, with each room receiving a free s'mores kit to enjoy at the oceanside fire pits. Fun fact: The property goes through more than 70,000 Hershey bars, 280,000 marshmallows, and nearly 700,000 graham crackers each year! Celebrate throughout August with the S'mores Package, from $187 a night, featuring one night's accommodations, a s'mores specialty pedicure, two s'more-tini cocktails, and a specialty s'mores platter. (If you just want a taste? Regular rates, which include the complimentary kit, start from $108.)

Hershey's Chocolate World, Hershey, Pennsylvania
Where better to celebrate National S'mores Day than at the birthplace of the Hershey's Chocolate bar? Hershey's Chocolate World (free admission) celebrates all things sweet in the Pennsylvanian town named after the man who revolutionized the chocolate industry. Hershey's S'mores Week, celebrated August 8-17, offers the chance to make your own Hershey's S'more in the Hershey's Dessert Creation Studio -- and stock up on themed items at the Hershey's Bake Shoppe and Hershey's Dipping Station. Prices vary per item, starting at $4)

Michigan State Parks
Shooting stars will dance across the sky during the Perseid Meteor shower on August 10, so we suggest combining two outdoor classics. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is providing complimentary Metors & S'mores events at 20 parks with late evening hours and free treats. Bring a blanket and get ready for the sweetest stargazing session ever.

Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery, Seattle, Washington
Organic, local ingredients that celebrate American comfort desserts are always on hand at this uber-sweet restaurant in Seattle. But the chocolate goodness spills out onto the street for National S'mores Day, when roasted-to-order treats are available from a sidewalk grill on Sunday. Specialty s'mores concoctions are also available this Friday through Sunday at the cakery, including s'more-flavored cookies, milkshakes, molten cakes, and cold-smoked chocolate s'mores. From $5.

Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, Lake Buena Vista, Florida
At Chip 'N Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long -- at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness in the Walt Disney World Resort -- the young and young-at-heart can create s'mores in addition to enjoying a visit from the mischievous Disney characters. The event is free for Disney Resort guests, combining photo ops and autographs with a cowboy-led singing session before a movie under the stars. Bring your own supplies, or buy a s'mores kit ($9.99).
