Burlesque Star Dita Von Teese to Perform on Norwegian

by  Kayla Becker | Jan 6, 2017
While cruising caters to mainstream America with acts and entertainment designed to delight more than shock, theme cruises tend to be whole-ship buyouts where the cruise promoters pick the entertainment and, well, anything goes. Case in point: Later this month, burlesque star Dita Von Teese will perform two striptease acts aboard Norwegian Epic, an otherwise family-friendly ship known for its Cirque Dreams dinner theater and stage show, Burn the Floor.

Known for her Hollywood glam pin-up style, Von Teese's two late-night performances will take place in the theater on Jan. 11 and 12 and are part of a theme cruise called “Holy Ship!” This Electronic Music theme sailing features a daily lineup of electronic artists and DJs, including DJ Snake and Fatboy Slim.

The four-day cruise will sail to the Caribbean roundtrip out of Port Canaveral, stopping at Great Stirrup Cay (where passengers are invited to a private island party) and Nassau before returning to Florida.
