The beachside Pavilion Hotel (formerly the 1950s-era Pavilion Lodge) reopens tomorrow on Catalina Island (just an hour-long ferry ride from LA). New rooms, 71 in all, feature private patios and beachy furnishings, while on-site amenities include a wine and cheese lounge, landscaped garden with fire pit, and an Internet café. But the real highlight of this opening: free loaner iPads for guests! There are supposedly eight on tap and are rented on a first come, first serve basis.
