Shopping at sea is about to get a little more luxe. Celebrity Cruises has partnered with online retailer Gilt to run pop-up shops on two of the line's ships: Celebrity Reflection and Celebrity Silhouette. In true pop-up fashion, the shops will only be open for eight weeks, running from December 3 to January 29.

Gilt is best known for their online sample sales, and this will only be the second time the company has opened an actual shop (the first was within Manhattan’s Saks Fifth Avenue). The Celebrity shops will sell clothing, jewelry, and accessories from a variety of brands including John Varvatos, Nanette Lepore, Cosabella, Alexis Bittar, Botkier, Antik Batik, and Furla.

This is the latest in the movement of ships shops expanding beyond the usual duty-free stores and including more high-end shopping, with brands such as Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, and Tiffany and Company all opening dedicated shops at sea. And while pop-up restaurants have been done, namely Le Cirque’s once-a-sailing takeover of Pinnacle Grill on Holland America ships, this is the first pop-up shop at sea that we have heard of and a trend we can definitely get on board with.
