Creator of Boaty McBoatface to Name Royal Caribbean Ship

Coming up with the perfect moniker for a ship isn't easy, and with five new ships launching within the next three years, Royal Caribbean has called in reinforcements. The line is enlisting the help of James Hand — the press officer turned viral sensation who suggested that the UK's new NERC research ship be named Boaty McBoatface. By now you've heard the story of how the National Environmental Research Council asked people to submit name ideas for their new vessel. Hand suggested the name as a joke, but it has garnered more than 30,000 votes on NERC's website.

And despite the fact that today is April 1, Royal Caribbean is insisting that this is not an April Fool's joke.
