The small Mexican beach town of Todos Santos on the Baja peninsula is considered a “Pueblo Magico” -- an official designation for historic and particularly beautiful Mexican towns -- for a reason. Framed by the Pacific and the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, it has great surf, hiking trails, and prime waters for whale watching. And now, it has an ultra-hip new hotel.
And with the addition of the new Hotel San Cristóbal Punta Lobos from Bunkhouse, there’s an affordable way to take it all in. Bunkhouse is known for its cool properties throughout Texas (Hotel San José and Hotel Saint Cecilia in Austin, plus local staple Jo’s Coffee) and this one seems to be right on par.
The new 32-room, laid-back beachfront property is calling it “the anti-resort” — although with an expansive pool, onsite Mexican-Mediterranean fusion restaurant, and dog-friendly rooms, we don’t think that’s a bad thing. And if you book a stay between April 3 and October 31, you can take advantage of a 30 percent discount.
A Mountain Suite facing the Sierra de la Lagunas would come down to $227 per night with the discount (originally $324 per night) and a Poolside King that’s steps away from the pool would be reduced to $210 from its usual $300. Rather face the Pacific? You can snag a Sea Queen room facing the ocean with a private patio for $260 per night with the discount (originally $372). Or, if you want to go all out, book the Ocean King Suite, which opens to the beach and has a soaking tub for $333 per night, down from $476.
To get the discount, book your reservations by July 1 using the booking code VAMOS.
