Holland America Line announced a partnership today with "America’s Test Kitchen" that will bring cooking classes inspired by the TV cooking show on board starting on Westerdam this October and rolling out fleet-wide by June 2017.

Chefs trained by the staff of "America’s Test Kitchen" (including co-host Julia Collin Davison) will teach two different types of cooking lessons in the updated Culinary Arts Centers on board. Each sailing will have eight different 45-minute demonstration courses that will mimic the show's format, instructing passengers how to make recipes ranging from dumplings to salmon to chocolate, followed by taste testing. There will also be four hands-on, 90-minute workshops that teach a specific skill, with classes on pasta- and pie-making and cake decorating, plus an egg class (to learn how to make meringues, for example). All of the recipes the chefs chose have been through their rigorous vetting process (some tested up to 70 times!) and are meant to be easily replicated at home.

The first class will take place on Westerdam's October 18 sailing in Mexico and will be followed by Nieuw Amsterdam on November 13 for its Caribbean season.
