While the worst of the heat may have broken here on the East Coast, the sticky, sultry summer days are far from over. What better way to cool down than indulging in an ice cream sundae? Especially when that sundae supports a worthy cause.

On July 15, more than 40 Kimpton hotels across the country will host an ice cream social to benefit Dress for Success, an organization that empowers disadvantaged women trying to make it in the working world. Whether or not you’re a Kimpton guest, drop by next Thursday between 5pm and 7pm to satisfy your sweet tooth and do a good deed at the same time. The treats cost $3-$5, with all the proceeds going to Dress for Success.

All month long (July is National Ice Cream Month, after all) Kimpton restaurants will be serving up specialty frozen confections as part of its “Scoop for Success” promotion, with $1 from every purchase benefiting Dress of Success. These mouth-watering delicacies are meant to invoke childhood memories, although we bet your Little League sundae parties were never quite like this. Our favorite? Red velvet doughnuts with bourbon-pecan cheesecake ice cream (pictured above) from Red Star Tavern & Roast House at the Hotel Monaco Portland.
