Thanks to Nickelodeon’s hit show from the '80s, You Can’t Do That on Television, getting “slimed” on air remains a sacred and coveted childhood experience for many. However, in 2011, slime meets sea on two seven-day, All Access cruises, courtesy of Nickelodeon and Norwegian Cruise Line. Tailored for younger passengers hankering to get some face time with the stars of the television show iCarly, Jennette McCurdy (Sam Puckett) and Nathan Kress (Freddie Benson), the two ships will set sail with a varying line-up of Nickelodeon all-stars, including Tom Kenny (the voice of SpongeBob) and Bill Fagerbakke (the voice of Patrick). In addition, tantalizing activities await on board, like breakfast with the characters, a golden opportunity to get slimed, and viewings of unaired episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants, iCarly, and more.
The first of the All Access cruises departs from New York on February 20, 2011, unraveling on the Norwegian Jewel, as it calls on Orlando, and Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau in the Bahamas, before returning to the Big Apple. This sailing starts from $699 per person. Wrapping up the set halfway around the world on July 24, the Norwegian Epic embarks on a round-trip voyage in the Western Mediterranean, pushing off from the coast of Barcelona and calling on Livorno, Rome, Naples, and Palma (formerly Palma de Mallorca of Spain’s Balearic Islands). Rates start from $1,049 per person.
For grownups, these massive cruisers have everything from martini bars, cigar lounges, jazz clubs, shopping complexes, casinos, art galleries, spas, and libraries. Check out the specs for the one-year-old Norwegian Epic here, or visit NCL to book.
