Royal Caribbean cruisers not content with the usual bus tour can now create their own one-of-a-kind shore excursions. The line announced the debut of Private Journeys, a program that will allow guests to craft personalized shore excursions in 288 ports in 77 countries.
Guests tailor an excursion according to their budget, interests, and experience with one of the line's concierge-style planners, regardless of the ship or sailing. Trips can be designed for individuals, couples, families, and small groups. Examples of Private Journey excursions include a kitchen tour and meal at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Bruges, a secluded lagoon swim in Dubrovnik, a chauffeured tour of the German countryside near Berlin in a vintage vehicle, or a trip to explore Alaska's Misty Fjords on a floatplane.
In celebration of the new launch, Royal Caribbean is waiving the required $100 deposit for all Private Journeys booked before March 31, 2016. Guests with already confirmed cruise reservations can also plan their excursions, but a request form must be completed online at least 30 days before the sailing date.
