Bake World-Famous Hotel Cookies This Weekend
Preheat your ovens because for the first time ever, DoubleTree by Hilton is sharing their famous cookie recipe with the world. The hotel brand’s chocolate chip cookies have been a staple for many years, given to guests at check-in, fresh from the oven. (Fun fact: This was the first food to be baked in orbit during missions aboard the International Space Station.) The bake-at-home recipe can be found here.
This Airline is Giving Pre-Flight COVID Tests
Emirates is taking steps to ensure that we will all be able to fly safely soon. The airline – said to be the first to take this action – is giving COVID-19 blood tests to passengers before they board one of the company’s aircrafts. The tests, which are conducted by the Dubai Health Authority, aren’t meant to diagnose active infection, but check for antibodies – and results are available within 10 minutes. This feels like a step in the right direction for future travel. And when you're ready to book, check out our deals page here.
Hotels Doing Good
Due to COVID-19, many hotels have been forced to close for guests. But what’s been most impressive is the way a number of properties have responded. Some have opened up to healthcare workers, and there are all sorts of kind acts happening across the board. The Excellence Collection has created an #ExcellenceHeroes program, giving away 50 vacations to doctors and nurses, which includes a four-night stay in an Excellence Club or Finest Club Suite at any of its properties, a spa treatment, and free round-trip ground transportation. Domingo Aznar, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for The Excellence Collection say, "Excellence Heroes is our small way of giving back to the people who have given us all so much. With this program, The Excellence Collection is able to thank the hard-working medical community among our very own guests and their nominees, by giving them an opportunity to recharge their spirits after so many difficult months."
