The fourth Atlas Ocean Voyages ship, currently scheduled to launch in 2023, 196-passenger World Adventurer will join identical polar-class vessels World Navigator, World Traveller and World Seeker in offering what Atlas is calling “luxe-adventure” cruising to “destinations less traveled.” The Fort Lauderdale-based company is a subsidiary of Portugal’s Mystic Invest Holding, which operates river cruise line DouroAzul and other brands, and is staffed by executives with decades of experience at cruise lines that include Oceania, Regent, Seabourn, Cunard, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. Atlas is poised to rapidly expand with the addition of a fifth identical ship—World Discoverer—in 2023. With its initial fleet established on the heels of a global pandemic that halted cruising for a full year, Atlas hopes to capitalize on pent-up demand for all-inclusive luxury expedition cruising. Details on World Adventurer’s itineraries and ports of call haven’t been released yet, but it appears the ship’s cruises will deliver adventure on a global scale.
