River Beatrice

Our Ship Review
Uniworld Boutique River Cruises
Cruise Line
Deal Expert / Travel Blogger

Uniworld's 156-passenger River Beatrice launched in 2009, and is shorter than the line's newer Super Ships. While it lacks the "wow-factor" of those vessels (instead of an indoor swimming pool, for example, River Beatrice has a comfortable library and lounge), the airy staterooms and expansive sundeck provide a grand home-away-from-home setting for cruising the Danube River.

What We Love

Complimentary Guest Laundry: A passenger laundry room might seem a small feature for some cruise guests, but it's a rarity on river ships. For people traveling with less luggage these days, it's a marvelous benefit.

All-Inclusive Pricing: Don't worry about paying extra for specialty dining, shore excursions, drinks, airport transfers, tips, and Wi-Fi. All of these are included on the River Beatrice.

Best Known For

The Luxe Factor: Everything from the furniture to the linens in the staterooms to the art in the common areas of River Beatrice has an elegant feel. Even the loungers on the sundeck are some of the plushest we've seen.

Who It's Best For

Sophisticated Travelers: The River Beatrice is an opulent ship best suited for couples nearing retirement age or older who expect and appreciate ornate surroundings and an all-inclusive experience.

Don't Say We Didn't Warn You

There's a Fancy Factor: The River Beatrice looks much like a palatial French country home. The decor is gorgeous, but it may be too formal for some guests seeking more laid-back surroundings and a casual cruise experience.
