Key Largo

It’s all about timing. To avoid crowds and inflated prices, we recommend the period between high and low seasons when the weather is fine, places are still open and happy to welcome travelers, and you can explore a destination at your own pace. ShermansTravel experts call this magical time and space continuum the Sweet Spot.

When to go to Key Largo

Peak Season: mid-December to April

Take advantage of winter’s tropical 75-degree weather. Those escaping colder temperatures in the north and celebrations at Christmas and New Year’s make this time of year the most crowded (and expensive) time to visit.

Off Season: July to mid-November

You’ll definitely score bargains during this period as it tends to be the height of hurricane season. With temperatures reaching the upper 80s, it’s also the hottest time of year.

Sweet Spot: May to June; mid-November to mid-December

Officially, hurricane season runs from June to November, but the tail-ends of the season are less likely to bring storms. You’ll experience some showers, but the weather is milder (temperatures average low 70s in late fall) and rates are lower.
