Expert Review

Never judge a book by its cover. Or a hotel by its lumbering exterior. Such is the lesson of Boston's glimmering, stylish Revere Hotel, which looks like parking garage from the outside. It's the inside that counts, and what an inside it is. Done in warm metallics, from the sculpture-and-orchid-filled lobby to the tiled showers, the influence of Boston's favorite patriot son – silversmith Paul Revere – is felt throughout. Many of the hotel's 356 rooms offer balconies with skyline and river views, beds with studded leather headboards, and bath products from the hip Canadian brand skoah, which opened its first U.S. store, where else, in Boston. If you can drag yourself away from the incredibly comfortable beds, you'll be just a few minutes’ walk from prime shopping on Newbury Street, the tranquil Boston Public Garden, and the stately brownstones of the Back Bay. And after a day of traversing this famously walkable city on foot, the sun-soaked, rooftop pool deck provides respite – and some of the best people watching in the neighborhood. All you have to bring is your most glamorous self. The friendly staff provides the towels.
